My name is Nathan Ribb and I was born and raised in Fresno, CA. I have three siblings. I attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Elementary School and Edison Public High School.

It was during my public high school experience that I realized that not everyone believed in God. I found that I was in a very small minority. That challenged me to deepen my faith; I wanted to defend it. I started pursuing the faith in my junior year after a deeper conversion and a desire to change my life. I began attending daily Mass and praying the Rosary. That led me to think about Priesthood. When parishioners at Mass would ask me if I was discerning, I would deny it. I kept pushing seminary out of my thoughts but it would not leave me alone. After high school graduation, I enrolled in Cal State-Fresno’s pre-nursing program for two years. During the summer of 2020, I began a study of eschatology which is the theology of death, judgment, and the final state of the soul. That is when a switch was flipped. I came to the realization that many people may not know the plan of salvation. In a moment of great grace, I understood that if God could use me as an instrument to bring at least one soul to Him, it would be worth it to me.

My family relocated to Boise in the summer 2021. I had visited Idaho several times prior to our move and I was impressed with Bishop Peter Christensen, Vocations Director Father Nathan Dail and all the seminarians here. It just has a different feel than Fresno. It seems like a lot of the people in Idaho really live out their faith.

I graduated from Bishop White Seminary on the Gonzaga Campus in May of 2024 with my undergraduate degree. I am currently assigned to work in Lourdes, France for the summer of 2024 and I will attend St. Paul Seminary in Minneapolis, MN this fall enrolled in Theology I classes.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing the piano and hiking.
